On 27th of February Made Corrections held a launch event at The London West Bank Gallery. An exhibition of deeply moving and poignant portrait photographs of the young boys inside The Kaunus Youth Correctional and Interrogation Facility taken by Lithuania’s leading photographer Donatas Stankevecius. Made Corrections also works closely with JR’s world renowned Inside Out Project who printed and supplied corresponding A0 sized posters. Donatas took portraits of 39 consenting inmates aged 14 to 18, for every 1 photograph taken, 3 A0 size posters were generated by JR’s Inside Out team in their New York HQ. Each set is destined to serve a different purpose, pasted in the following three different locations:
1. The first set were pasted as an exhibition at The London Westbank Gallery to raise UK awareness for the project
2. The second will be pasted on the walls of Kaunas City, on selected buildings, starting to raise questions and international debate about the project
3. The third will be within the walls of the facility. The boys who are involved with the project will be asked to help with this action.
